Hello all in the Land of Angels,
This is Andy Mendelsberg with the weekly announcements for the week of May 1st through May 5th:
From the Principal’s Desk:
We will be on a normal schedule this week.
The weekly attendance for this past week was 86%. Our goal for the year is 93%.
The East Arts Walk is coming! The Arts Walk will take place on Thursday, May 11th from 5:30pm-8:00pm. For more information, please go to our website.
Senior Checkout is on Wednesday, May 17th. Seniors please make sure you take care of all fees and fines prior to the 17th.
With that in mind, we will no longer accept personal checks after April 28th. If you would like a detail list of your students’ fees, please email our treasurer at Deanna_carri@dpk12.org or stop by the Treasurer’s Office for a print out.
Seniors: Do you have overdue East High School Library books? Do you owe Library fees that need to be paid prior to graduation? Please check your status on the Library lists posted outside the Treasurer’s office and in the Library. East High School Library fee information does not appear in Infinite Campus.
The schedule for finals is now posted on our website. Parents please plan trips accordingly. Students must take their finals during the posted time.
Tutoring is available every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the library from 3-4pm. Additionally, all teachers are available from 1:15-2:15 on Thursdays for tutorial.
From the Counseling Office:
Seniors: The May 1st deadline to commit to your college/university is right around the corner! If you need support navigating this decision and the next steps of enrolling, please visit your counselor.
AP Testing will take place the first two weeks of May. Students can see the testing schedule in the counseling office.
Juniors: Make sure you are accessing Khan Academy and Method Test Prep on Naviance to increase your score and level of success on your SAT and ACT tests. See your counselor to make a testing plan for the spring and summer! The registration deadline for the June 10th ACT is May 5th and the deadline for the June 3rd SAT is May 9th.
From the Activities Office:
Seniors: Please pick up your Jostens orders and After Prom Invitations ASAP in room 100.
Senior t-shirts are still available for only $5 sizes are limited.
All Prom/After Prom guest forms are due into the deans office by May 1st. Forms are available on the East Website.
From the Angels Packs Program:
“The East Pantry will be open this Saturday, April 29th from 9-10:30am in the Commons. The Pantry is open to any East families who would like to pick up both fresh and non-perishable food to supplement their kitchens. This month there will also be frozen meat, fresh fruits and vegetables and toiletry items. This is a FREE service provided by the Angel Packs Program. If you need help with transportation, please call Margaret Berzins at 303-810-4185. Please enter the building from Detroit Street. For more information go to eastangelpacks.webs.com.”
