Weekly Announcements

Hello all in the Land of Angels,

This is Andy Mendelsberg with the weekly announcements for the week of August 21st through August 25th:

From the Principal’s Desk:

Freshmen will officially begin the 2017-18 school year on Monday, August 21st  at 7:30am with our Freshmen Orientation Day.  Freshmen parents can join me, our administrative team and our counselors in the auditorium at 8am for bagels, coffee, a brief presentation and an informal question/answer period.

All students will start normal classes on Tuesday, August 22nd. We will have an adjusted schedule (please check our website) on Tuesday to distribute official schedules to sophomores, juniors and seniors (freshmen will get their official schedules on Monday).  There will be no blocks during our first week back.

Back to School Night will be on Tuesday, September 5th from 6-8pm.  Parents please mark this date on your calendars.  We look forward to seeing you!

As we all know, there is a ton of construction around our campus.  Parents please talk with your students about being safe walking and driving around campus.  We are thrilled with the work being done but know that it will require all of our patience until it is completed.  Thank you for your understanding!

Parking passes for the 2017-18 school year are sold out. All students who purchased the parking pass and have less than a 90% attendance rate will have their passes revoked without refund. Purchasing a pass does not guarantee a spot in the lot every day, as the lot is oversold because of daily absences.  Parking pass enforcement will begin on Tuesday, August 22nd.

From the Activities Office:

  • Class meetings for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will be held Thursday, August 25th. Planners and school picture packets will be handed out during those meetings. Freshmen will receive their packets and planners on Monday
  • School Pictures Will be August 31st for Freshmen and Seniors and September 1st for Sophomores and Juniors.

The Club Fair is September 8th on the E during lunch. This is a great opportunity to learn about all the clubs at East. Students interested in creating a club should stop by room 100 and speak to Tee MacDonald.

Have a great weekend!
