Mr. Kirschling is planning an 11 day trip to France over spring break of 2020 for East High French students. Generally, students in French 3 or above attend the trip. This trip will be my 12th trip overseas with students and the 7th with Vistas In Education (VIE). Departure is March 26th and the return April 5th 2020.
The trip includes a five-night family stay in the Loire Valley and four nights in Paris. Each student will have his or her own French family with whom they will spend part of the trip. Students share family life over the weekend and go to school with the French host sister or brother during the weekdays (2). Students are paired with teenagers and families with similar interests. After the family-stay experience we will spend four nights in Paris visiting some of the highlights and having time to explore some on our own. There will be two chaperones for the group (capped at 15 students).
All meals are covered when with the host family, and all breakfasts and dinners when in Paris (5 lunches are not covered in the price.) Entrance and dinner on the Eiffel Tower is included with early sign up. Scheduled museum visits and a bateau ride down the Seine are also included in the price.
Typically we see the following museums and churches: the Louvre, the Orsay, Notre Dame, and Sainte Chapelle along with a number of other sites and neighborhoods.
There is a range for the price of the trip depending on how many students sign up. From lowesttohighest:$ 3455-$3695for early sign-up (registration prior to June 15th, 2019).
There are several payment plans available. Registration and payment information is available at a parent-student meeting Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in room 309 April 24th. This is a reschedule from the original date of April 17th.
