Honors and Awards

Academic Angels Honor Roll:  3.5-3.74 (based on unweighted GPA, each individual semester)

Principal’s Academic Honor Roll:  3.75-4.0 (based on unweighted GPA, each individual semester)

HALO Academic Honor Roll: Recognizes a GPA upward trend of growth by .75 or higher from one semester to the next semester

Seal of Biliteracy:  The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by DPS in recognition of students who have attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.

Seal of Diverse Learning and Cultural Understanding:  Under Development- to be distributed for the graduating class of 2021.

The Denver East Academic Letter:  Two consecutive Angel or Principal Honor Roll acknowledgements will result in the granting of the Denver East Academic Letter for letter.   A letter “bar” will be granted for each additional consecutive semester with Angel or Principal Honor Roll recognition.

Top 10: The average of all eight semesters is used to determine a school’s valedictorian/salutatorian. Students must be enrolled in their school of attendance for a minimum of three (3) years and achieve the highest grade point average in their graduating class to qualify to be the class valedictorian/salutatorian (DPS Policy).

Department Awards Each Semester for Academics and/or Engagement (Affective, Behavior, Cognitive)

CHSAA Individual All-State Academic Award FIRST TEAM CRITERIA 1 – 3.60 or higher cumulative grade point average 2 – Minimum junior academic standing 3 – Must be a letter winner or equivalent in activity nominated 4 – Must be a participant in a CHSAA-sponsored activity during current season
