As you are likely aware of by now, the threat that was represented to our schools causing today, April 17ths,  school closing has now ended. We are looking forward to having our students back with us on Thursday morning, April 18th.

Concerning yesterday’s event, we were notified of the safety concern at about 4:00 p.m. and immediately engaged a “lock-out” procedure. Since after-school activities had begun, we brought students in from the athletic fields and secured our building and grounds. The lock-out allowed us to safely manage the transition of activity in and around the school building. Our staff members are well prepared for these types of circumstances and we were thankful for their presence and effectiveness in helping to ensure the safety of our community.

As we return tomorrow, we will be on a regular Thursday Block Schedule, starting at 7:30 a.m. with 2nd, 4th, and 7th periods, a 1:15 p.m. student release, and “tutorial” available after school.

On Friday, April 19th, we will have a Block Schedule for periods 1, 3, 6, and 8, with the start of school at 7:30 a.m. and the release of students at 2:45 p.m., our typical release time.

For your information, the school building and all facilities will remain closed through this evening and all athletic and other events, including the Choice of Studies Night for our current 8th graders/incoming 9th graders and transfer students, are canceled.

Thank you for your patience and support during the last 24 hours. Please, let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we look forward to seeing you soon.
