As we begin planning for the rest of the year, we wanted to share information for families who would like to change their learning option (either in-person or virtual) for next semester.

Families with students at East High School can request a change to their current learning option between Monday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 13. Families that do not take action will remain enrolled in their current learning option through the end of the school year.

Our school schedule will be similar to that used through this current semester, with the semester structured with two quarters (up-to four classes per student during the 3rd Quarter and up-to three classes per student during the 4th Quarter). Students will remain in their current “a.m.” or “p.m.” schedule for the 2nd semester and the exact same schedule will be used for both “Remote” and “hybrid/in-person,” if and when we are required to make transitions through the semester.

Note that students who are in the 100% Virtual Option may experience a schedule change based on the availability of online courses in our school schedule.

Families enrolled in the hybrid/in-person option are choosing that they want their student to attend school in-person as much as possible, as soon as the health conditions allow, through the remainder of the school year. Families that don’t feel comfortable having their student participate in in-person learning at all for the spring (through May 2021) should be enrolled in the 100% Virtual Option.

If you would like to request a change to your current learning option, please complete the Learning Option Update form on the Parent Portal by Dec. 13th. You can also call our school’s front office at 720-423-8300 to make your request for changes over the phone. We will make every effort to accommodate change requests for families who need it. Families who put in a request for a change to their student’s learning option can expect to receive confirmation from the Denver Public Schools after Dec. 13th.
