Acceptance letters to Denver East will be sent via email/text from the DPS School of Choice Office in late March or early April. If you have questions regarding the School of Choice process or outcomes please contact their office directly at 720-423-3493.

East will host Incoming Choice of Studies Nights on April 13th, 14th and 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the East auditorium. Attendance on one of these nights is MANDATORY for incoming families, and counselors will guide small groups of students through choosing their classes for the next school year. Fall sports, clubs, academic departments, and activities will also be represented in the lobby to encourage your student to get involved and connected!

*NO RSVP NEEDED. If you cannot make it on your designated night, please come to one of the other evenings. Please keep checking our website for updates. A list of classes to choose from will be uploaded in early April so you can familiarize yourself with the choice of studies options. If your student receives special education services, please bring a copy of her or his most recent IEP to assist with class selection.

If your student has taken a full year of both Algebra and Geometry and he/she would like to take Advanced Algebra 2 as a 9th grader, your student MUST take our math assessment from 4:45-6:00 on either April 13th, 14th, or 15th in room 110. This test will cover comprehensive Algebra 1 and Geometry concepts to ensure students are well prepared for Advanced Algebra 2. Please click here for a list of topics covered within the Advanced Algebra 2 Assessment.

Due to the mass number of requests, we cannot accommodate individual tours and matriculation appointments regarding your incoming student. If you have additional questions following your attendance at one of the three choice of studies evenings, please email your student’s counselor (counselor directory). Our eight offered open houses have also concluded for the school year. Please check our calendar for academic, arts or athletic events that you can attend with your student to get a feel for talent, culture and student body of our Angels!
