Thank you to our incredible East Dance Company and their teacher, Paige Farlow for the outstanding “Coffee House” performance last night!  Your passion, hard work, and excellence in dance were represented in a beautiful and powerful way.

Good luck to our athletes as many return to competition over the course of the next several weeks.

Whether your student will be joining us at the school building on Monday morning or remaining in “virtual” school, we wish them the very best as our school experience begins to transition into the Hybrid In-Person context next week.

Just a few quick reminders for those that are returning to school for in-person instruction on Monday:

  • Check out all of the information that has been sent in the last couple of weeks- the Angels on Air video has seemed to be especially helpful to our students
  • Be certain you know the door that your student will be entering and the door that they will be exiting- If they are getting a ride to school you need to know on which side of the building, east or west, to drop off or pick up.
    • Entry and exit doors are different for most students, so be prepared for that.
    • It can be much easier to have your student walk a block from drop-off and to pick-up
  • Students must bring:
    • Charged Computer or Chromebook
    • Power cord
    • Headphones/Earbuds
    • We are prepared to take care of students who have forgotten any items they need

Transition to Hybrid In-Person Calendar:

  • Next Week:
    • We will begin to transition to hybrid with two “in-person” days
      • Monday will be “Hybrid In-Person” for periods 1 and 2
      • Tuesday and Wednesday will be “Full-Remote”
      • Thursday will be “Hybrid In-Person” for periods 3 and 4
      • Friday will be reserved for preparation into four days of “Hybrid In-Person” starting Feb. 1
  • Week of February 1:
    • Hybrid In-Person schedule through the week.  We will have the exact same schedule we have been following, but “synchronous” time is “in-person”

Counseling

Class of 2022 will begin picking their classes for next school year starting February 1st.  All juniors will be messaged on schoology on 1/27 by their assigned counselor on how to set up a choice of studies appointment and will be provided with mandatory ‘pre-work’ that will help your student think about what classes they would like to take!  Thank you in advance for the kind reminder to your child to check their email!

Athletics

Wednesday, February 3rd is National Letter of Intent Day or signing day for athletes that will be playing a sport in college. Some of you have already signed, or are about to sign, and some will sign on the 3rd. Whatever the case, we want to celebrate you as you move on to the next level in your sport. Here is what you will need to submit: A picture, a BRIEF bio sighting your academic/athletic accomplishments, also, include your sport and the school where you have signed to play. We would love it if you wore a hat, t-shirt, or sweatshirt that represents your college or university.
