Family & Community Engagement Update
DPS Helpline
Family Constituency Services (FCS) also known as the DPS Helpline! Students, parents, teachers, staff, and community members can call the helpline for school-based or districtwide questions and support. Our FCS addresses concerns, conducts mediations, and supports community meetings. Here’s more information about what else they can support with.
Helpline: (720) 423-3054
Volunteers
Please remember, all volunteers need to complete a background check prior to volunteering within the school and classroom. The purple Volunteer Background Check Portal tab is hyperlinked to the Sterling Volunteers DPS prepaid account landing page. When using this link, payment is not required. The DPS Online Volunteer Background Check is located at the following link – https://equity.dpsk12.org/get-involved/volunteer-services/
Donate for Mothers
1 in 83 mothers need a blood transfusion after giving birth. This is a severely high number, and without those who are willing to donate, these mothers are put into dire and deadly circumstances. Donate4Mothers is an organization that provides blood to birthing individuals who hemorrhage–or have similar complications–during childbirth. We ask that, if you are willing and able, please consider donating blood on May 14th, between the hours of 9am-1pm, at the First Unitarian Society of Denver. Not only do you have the opportunity to save a life, but you will also impact the life of a mother and her family for many years to come. This drive will be assisted by Anjali Jaster (a recent East graduate), and it would be lovely to see students, teachers, and staff come together to support this vital cause. We thank you for your support!
City Park Day City Park Day will be held at the City Park Pavilion on May 31 from 5-8 pm. There will be free ice cream from Sweet Cooie’s, the music of the Denver Municipal Band, face painting, caricatures and a Victorian theme celebrating City Park’s Victorian roots. Come check it out!
