Congratulations to East’s own Angelbotics robotics team on their excellent placement in the Orange County (O.C.) Regional Competition! They were Team Captain for playoff alliances and their alliance finished a riveting and close second place. During qualification rounds, Angelbotics were third seed of 42 international teams.
Angelbotics rocked not only the OC Regional with this outstanding performance, but the whole of FIRST Robotics world. They are currently in the top 100 teams worldwide statistically, were 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in every statistical category at OC and are in the 97th percentile in terms of robot performance worldwide.
In addition to being a Finalist at OC Regional, our East robotics team won the FIRST Imagery Award. This award celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance. Students and mentors alike were excited by the robot’s reveal video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rqnEFxyrlM), pit and t-shirt design, and colorful robot.
We are very excited to attend the upcoming Colorado Regional, March 24-26, and invite our East friends to come down to Magness Arena on the 25th and 26th to cheer our team on. The team is also looking to grow our sponsorships/partnerships and welcome any related inquiries at chrisi.2@mac.com.
