Welcome Back!

Posted August 18, 2023

Hello East Angels Community,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.  I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy your summer.  It’s been a busy summer for the East Angels and we look forward to sharing some of these enhancements to our school community.  Over the past couple of months, we have updated our department work spaces, repainted and retiled our athletic hallways, redesigned a Special Education classroom, planted several trees gifted by alumnus Robert F. Smith and the Class of 1981 and we just broke ground on the repavement of the student parking lot.

As we prepare for a new school year, I look forward to welcoming our new and returning East High Angels.  The first day of school is quickly approaching, so I hope you are preparing for the start of an amazing year. One of the first steps towards preparedness is completion of the DPS Registration process. This must be completed for every student each year, new and returning. If you have not completed registration yet, please visit the DPS Registration website and register.  If you are new to DPS, a foreign exchange student or you received an offer from the waitlist, you will need to come to East to register in-person.  Please see Ms. Catbagan in Room 229 between 8am-3pm (closed for lunch 12pm-1pm). If you have any specific questions, please reach out to our Registrar Yvonne at ysalas@dpsk12.net.

The coming days are filled with excitement and many opportunities for our school community to connect with each other.  We will host events that will fill you with joy, provide answers to some of your questions and give us a chance to get back to the true essence of being a part of this incredible community. Please add these important dates to your calendars as we hope to see you there!

Take good care,

Terita Walker
