Congrats to Michelle Rich!

We are incredibly proud to share that Michelle Rich, a dedicated Social Studies teacher at East High School, has been recognized as a key contributor in the national rollout of AP African American Studies. Michelle is a National Board Certified Teacher and an expert in race and ethnicity studies, having earned her master’s degree in History from the University of Colorado Denver.

Her impact extends beyond the classroom. Michelle played a major role in shaping and teaching the AP African American Studies curriculum as a College Board-endorsed consultant and AP Reader, helping to launch this transformative course across the country. She also collaborates with the African Diaspora Consortium, contributing to national conversations around inclusive education.

Michelle currently teaches AP Seminar and Introduction to Ethnic Studies at East, where she inspires students to explore complex histories with curiosity and critical thinking. Her passion and leadership continue to make a lasting mark on our community and the future of social studies education.
