AP Seminar – African Diaspora

Posted August 18, 2025

OPEN TO ALL GRADES

This course takes you from the ancient kingdoms of Africa to the modern global diaspora. Through a chronological and thematic lens, we explore the African and African-descended experience as a vital part of human history. You will trace connections between local and global events, uncover parallels across continents, and examine the transformations in culture, politics, and identity that continue to shape the world today.  Along the way, you’ll learn how to research deeply, analyze multiple perspectives, and present your findings. Please note that students enrolled in this course as a 9th grade year will not be able to take AP Seminar English 2 as a tenth grader due to the AP credit being earned in 9th grade.

Please fill out the counselor schedule change form if you would like it to be added to your schedule!
