FREE TEST PREP
We are excited to share with you an additional resource for tutoring and test prep support for our students. Denver Public Library recently started a subscription with the online tutoring platform, Tutor.com.
English and Spanish speaking tutors are available in a variety of subjects and test prep areas from 3:00 p.m. – 10.00 p.m. every day of the week. Tutor.com also offers writing help, test prep resources from The Princeton Review for the ACT and SAT. They also offer Advanced Placement course videos and more.
There is a public blog post about the resource and what’s available. Students must be a registered user of the Denver Public Library to access this resource. The Flyers and Posters for this program are located HERE.
Testing
The guardian of a Denver Public Schools student, can request to excuse their child from participating in the state assessments. It is a disadvantage for you and your child to lose access to the feedback that testing provides, however if you wish to opt your child out, follow the directions at this link in English or this link in Spanish. The deadline for opting out is February 29.
Advisement Update
This week in advisements, students completed their third and final round of the BESS screener and double checked that they have completed all historical ICAPs and all 4 Quarters of ICAP from this year.
Here are the slides for all grades for this week!
