| A Successful Year for East DECA120 East Angels showcased their skills at the annual DECA State competition in late February. East walked away with seven first-place finishers- more state champions than any other CO DECA program – and qualified 49 students for DECA Internationals (ICDC). Congratulations to the following Angels for outscoring 200+ teams from around the world and advancing to the Finals/Top 20 at the ICDC competition in Anaheim, CA, in late April: Nathaniel Chapman and Trevor Hajek (Juniors), Claire Crimmins and Isabella Massena (Seniors), Evelyn Espinoza (Senior), Stephen Asante, Ally Carrier, and Tessa Cleveland (Seniors).DECA is a business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and finance student organization with over 3,000 global chapters, where students hone their presentation skills, develop career-oriented skills, and gain exposure to real-world case studies and business challenges. Students must be enrolled in an East Business CTE class to participate in DECA. |
| Chromebook Return from ALL students |
| All students need to return chromebooks this year along with a charger. If you do not return a chromebook: Your computer will be locked and you will be assessed a $100 fee. | Register Online for the 24-25 School Year!! Each school year, ALL families must update their information. This can be done through online registration either in the spring during the Early Bird window (May 6-May 24) or starting at the end of July. We encourage all of our families to complete the online verification process during the early bird window. | Student Medication Pick-Up |
| It is that time of year again! All Student Medications need to be picked up. Please make arrangements with the Nursing Health Office (Room 130) to pick up all medications (Including Emergency Medications) that were brought to the Nursing Health Office to support your student’s health during the 2023-2024 school year. All medications must be picked up by an adult and are not permitted to be sent home with your child. If your child is participating in a DPS summer program: Medications WILL NOT automatically be transferred to the summer school program. All medication must be dropped off by parent/guardian and given to the on-site nurse on the first day of the summer program along with the completed Medication Administration Form. ALL UNCLAIMED MEDICATIONS WILL BE DISPOSED OF ON: May 31, 2024 @ 12:00 PM. Thank you in advance for allowing Dani and me to care for your student this school year. | INROADS College Links is a college and career readiness program for “underserved” high school students (incoming freshman through starting their senior year students) interested in all aspects of academia. The program introduces students to various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and business careers. Students gain professional and soft skill tools, goal-setting and planning skills, and access to career immersion activities. We equip students with the skills needed to succeed in college, careers, and in life. STEM Challenge Camp– May 13th – 24th, this camp is for high school graduating seniors, community college, and MSU Denver students. Attendees get a $300 stipend for participation. Students will learn problem-solving using the Lean Six Sigma process.Summer Science Scholars- June 10th – June 28th. This camp is for incoming high school Juniors and Seniors. Attendees get a $500 stipend for participation. Students will learn various STEM skills and apply those learned skills to a research project of their choice. Code Denver – June 17th – July 12th. This camp is for incoming 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. An Experiential STEM Summer program. Summer Science Institution – This is a two-week half-day program. Cost is $400. If there is a financial need, a scholarship will be provided. | DPS Summer School:DPS is offering summer school this year for students who have failed one or more courses in high school. Summer school will be held from June 11 – July 17, 2024, every Tuesday – Friday from 8:00am – 11:00am. Please see this document for additional information. Exploring College Options:Exploring College Options will have an evening event on May 13, 2024 at 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Auditorium. The presentation will showcase Duke University, Georgetown, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford. Representatives from each university will present information about their institution, discuss the application process, and answer questions on how to put together a strong and reflective application.  Luis is a great contributor to our school community! He organized Noche de Familias, a night for Spanish speaking families to connect, receive information in their native language, and celebrate Hispanic culture in our school. Not only that, but he always has creative ideas to build community in his classroom. He’s a longtime advocate for Friendsgiving and brings food trucks and ice cream carts to the classroom in order to build community. Our school is so lucky to have him! |

| East yearbooks are almost here! Senior yearbook distribution will be during graduation practice on Monday, May 20th in the gym. All other students can pick up pre-purchased books during lunch and after school outside of Room 210 beginning Monday, May 20th. Books will NOT be distributed during class time. We cannot deliver books, so please communicate with your student to pick up their book if it has been purchased. There are less than 100 books left for sale, if you have not purchased a book, get yours now, before they are gone. | East High School’s Spirit Store is located on the second floor just south of the Main Office. We will be open at lunch on Monday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 22, before closing for the summer. The Spirit Store is run by volunteers and will be closed if a volunteer is not available.
