Student ID Policy

We are getting closer to the time when students will be required to have an ID in order to enter the school. Student pictures were taken this week, so every student should have an East High School ID.  IDs are to be worn at all times and around the neck (from a lanyard). The wearing of the IDs, at all times, is a Denver Public Schools policy.

On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, students will still be able to show their Infinite Campus or Portal picture in order to enter the school.  Starting on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 all students will be required to have an ID to enter.  If a student doesn’t have an ID by Thursday, they will need to wait in line at the front security desk for one to be printed. Please NOTE that all re-printed IDs are $5 and the charge will be added to the student’s account.

Saturday, September 9th

  • Homecoming Dance from 8:00pm – 10:30pm in the North Courtyard.
  • IDs are required to get into the dance.
  • No guests are allowed.

October Digital PSAT Testing

East High School will offer PSAT/NMSQT testing to students free of charge on October 20, 23, and 24. This is an opportunity for students to get valuable feedback on their readiness for college, have access to scholarship opportunities, and to practice for the SAT. We will not have regular classes on testing days in order to provide an appropriate testing environment.

The test is completely digital this year and will be taken on school issued chromebooks. Click here to learn more about the digital testing experience.

Accommodations that have been approved by the college board are built into the digital testing experience. In order to opt out of approved accommodations, a guardian must email our site assessment leader by Oct 2 jperkin@dpsk12.net.

Parents may opt their student out of testing by following the directions at this link in English or this link in Spanish.
