Friday News 9/22/23

Posted September 25, 2023

Dear East Angels Community, we have officially completed the first month of the school year! Woohoo! As we enter October, 9th -11th grade students should begin to prepare for the PSAT. There are free SAT preparatory resources HERE, in addition to class prep assignments and a family-friendly way of engaging with SAT material is by utilizing ChatGPT for SAT prompts. SAT is essential for college readiness and I want to ensure our students are being encouraged to prepare in class and on their own. As always, thank you for your support of our Angels!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! We are proud of the Latino Students United (LSU) for their hard work and dedication on an amazing celebration of their heritage during their historic assembly.

October Digital PSAT Testing

East High School will offer PSAT/NMSQT testing to students free of charge on October 20, 23, and 24. This is an opportunity for students to get valuable feedback on their readiness for college, have access to scholarship opportunities, and to practice for the SAT. We will not have regular classes on testing days in order to provide an appropriate testing environment.

The test is completely digital this year and will be taken on school issued chromebooks. Click here to learn more about the digital testing experience.

Accommodations that have been approved by the college board are built into the digital testing experience. In order to opt out of approved accommodations, a guardian must email our site assessment leader by Oct 2 jperkin@dpsk12.net.

Parents may opt their student out of testing by following the directions at this link in English or this link in Spanish.
